VERO! The new app that is taking over the social media world with hundreds of thousands of downloads overnight ever since it was mentioned on a hit TV show. And if you are like the thousands of others, you are eagerly waiting for it to load so you can create your profile. While it has been terribly slow due to overloaded servers the last few days, once you are in, it is so worth it!
As a blogger and influencer, I can see this being a platform I will post on much more often than Instagram or Facebook. Being able to directly upload site links, videos, photos and more, you will have a wider variety of content to scroll through for hours and get a better feel for friends or people you follow.
But what is Vero?
Vero is a social media app that claims they will not use infuriating algorithms that change weekly such as Instagram or Facebook. All posts are shown in chronological order (AKA the order everyone wants to see content) based on the people you have connected with or follow.
How do I use Vero?
Vero has four different following/follower options: close friends (diamond), friends (—-), acquaintances (—-), and followers (binoculars). When posting in your feed, you can choose how many of the above audiences will see your content. For example, let’s say you are announcing your pregnancy, but only want close friends to see it because you are holding off on making it completely public. You will create your post, only select close friends, and post knowing only those you want to see it ever will! No filing through your friends list to exclude certain people or having to worry about visibility settings.
You have the option to let anyone follow you, anyone request to connect with you, or you can keep your account completely private. You can change all of these settings in your preferences.
