With Easter right around the corner, I am so excited to celebrate with our first child! Growing up, I remember eagerly getting dressed in our freshly starched Sunday dresses, pastel coats, and bonnets to go collect eggs and search for our well hidden Easter baskets from the Easter Bunny! We would find chocolates, bubbles, and my personal favorite, toys and games carefully placed on tree branches or in the garden. It was always amazing how our mom and dad were able to “see” the other items we missed when we thought we collected everything.
I also remember hearing our dad gasp and moan the next few weeks when he was mowing the lawn and hacked up a plastic egg, or worse- broke one of the old hard boiled ones! While our little one is only three months old, and won’t remember his first Easter, we are going over to my parent’s home where all of my younger siblings still hunt. They would quite honestly be confused why the Easter Bunny would leave their little nephew out of the loop! So, what does the Easter Bunny bring an infant?
Well, obviously the “normal” things like chocolate and marshmallows are out, so my mom suggested I do what she did for all of her infants: Fisher Price Toys! I mean, it just makes sense- I will be getting them for him in the next weeks anyway, so why not make a cute display out of it and get pictures for the memories?
So I stopped by my local Walmart and picked up a baby basket to load up with toys and goodies. Out off all the bright, colorful options of Fisher Price toys, I chose to go with a set of Baby’s First Blocks. Since he is starting to grab things and truly look at objects, I thought these would be perfect! And it is a toy that will grow with him from touching and putting them in his mouth, to plopping them in the basket, then finally matching up the shapes to the designated holes. I am so excited to see him interact with his first real toy! Check out their entire Easter collection HERE!
Some other things I will put in his infant Easter basket is any thing I NEED. Diapers? Heck yeah! Pacifiers? Load ’em up. Bottles and baby spoons? Boom! You can pass of anything as a super exciting gift from the Easter Bunny if it has a bow on it. 😉
Have fun shopping for your little one, and it is certainly okay to “spoil them!”After all, you will remember all of these firsts forever.
