Trick Or Treat Alternatives For Halloween 2020!
We all know that 2020 has changed how we are doing a lot of things. And 2021 is proving to be very similar so far. From school, to travel, to holidays- parents are having to make tough calls.
If you’re worried about your children going to parties, trick or treating, or being away from home in general for Halloween 2020 and Halloween 2021, you may want to think of some alternatives.
Whether you have a movie marathon at home or go trunk or treating at your church, there are fun things you can do with the little ones this Halloween that are either completely at home, or socially distanced. Let’s look at a few different trick or treating alternatives for Halloween 2020.
Trick Or Treat Alternatives:
If you want to keep things as normal as possible, you can try out a trick or treating alternative like going to a trunk or treating event hosted by people you know, host a scavenger hunt in the comfort of your own home or yard, or hide candy around your home for your own version of trick or treating.
It might be in your neighborhood or at your church. Trunk or treating can definitely be done in a way that limits the amount of kids in one area. You also limit the amount of germs your kids are exposed to by choosing to go to an event hosted by people your family already interacts with.

A bit of a reverse trick or treat idea, and a great way to spread cheer! “Boo” your neighbors with a cute Halloween basket- and grab this adorable printable to include in their gift.
Craft Night:
Instead of heading out, why not stay in? One way to enjoy staying home is to have a craft night! Each member of the family could make their own version of something.
For example, each person might get a canvas to paint their favorite Halloween monster or icon. If someone can guess what your painting is supposed to be, you will get a bag of candy.
There are also a ton of Halloween crafts, templates, and printables online that your whole family can enjoy.
I have a few of my favorites below, but there are literally thousands of free options to choose from. Just make it fun!
