Spring Cleaning Tips For People Who Would Rather Watch Netflix
Spring cleaning. Does anyone actually get excited to clean? If you’re more into lounging on the couch and watching Netflix, you may not want to think about this dreaded chore. The good news is spring cleaning for lazy people is easier than you might think. You’ll love using these hacks to get your home clean!
Make Gunk Easier to Remove
Elbow grease? No, thank you. Instead of spending hours and hours cleaning and scrubbing, use hacks to loosen the gunk. For example, you can heat lemon juice in your microwave. The steam from the lemon juice will loosen all the nasty gunk. Just wipe it clean and you’re done. The same goes for your oven door. Boil water and add white vinegar, use tongs to soak a cloth in the water. Then use the tongs to stretch the cloth out over the oven door. Allow the cloth to set for 10 to 15 minutes and then wipe clean. Easy peasy.
Replace It
Don’t feel like dealing with stains on your area rugs or pillows? Replace them. Spring cleaning is a great time to start fresh, right? If the things can be replaced inexpensively, why not treat yourself? From new pillowcases, to couch covers, to house plants- there are so many things you can update to give you a fresh start and a positive attitude.
Hire A Maid
This one is my personal favorite- hire someone to do it for you! Using a Dallas maid service like Modern Maids Dallas is a great way to clean your home, AND be lazy. Do the basic pick up around the house, and hire someone else to clean the windows, dust the shelves, vacuum, make the beds, and so much more. Not quite comfortable with having someone in your home while you aren’t there? No problem- it’s the perfect excuse to binge a show while the house “cleans itself.” Check out Modern Maid Dallas for a reliable maid service in Dallas!
Get Rid of It
Too much stuff? This is the story of my life, and also the thing I always try to ignore. Instead of working for hours to reorganize everything, just purge it. Spring cleaning is a great time to declutter your home. If your home has become cluttered, chances are you have too many things. Let them go and you won’t have to deal with them. Some of the first things that come to mind are: clothes, towels, makeup, cleaning supplies, and snacks in the cupboard nobody will EVER eat. Clean them out, and enjoy your newfound space!
Use a Cleaner
Your dishwasher and washing machine both need to be cleaned in order to keep functioning. The good news is you can purchase cleaners to do the job for you. There are pods for your dishwasher and powders for your washing machines. Both are super simple to use.
Slip on a Pair of Gloves
Who likes dusting? Um, no one. Instead of working around all the time doodads, slip on a pair of microfiber gloves. These gloves allow you to dust your home by simply running your hands along the surfaces. Just pick up each doodad and wipe it clean. You can also use rubber gloves to remove pet hair from your furniture.
You can still enjoy being lazy even when it comes to spring cleaning. Use hacks and products that make your life easier. Also, take the time to purge your home so that there’s less to clean. Pretty soon, your home will look a lot better and you’ll be pleased that you didn’t even break a sweat. What tips do you have for spring cleaning for lazy people?
