Snowman Sugar Cookie Recipe

Need a last minute recipe for cookies to leave for Santa on Christmas Eve? These Snowman Sugar Cookies are so simple to make, and are sure to impress- whether you leave them out for the big guy, or bring them to your next holiday party. These cookies are so easy from start to finish, you can even have the kids help roll them out and decorate. Happy Holidays!
The Ingredients:
- 1 C unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
- 1 1/2 C powder sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 C flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cream of tarter
- 1 bag of white chocolate melting wafers
- Black cookie icing
- Orange cookie icing
The Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- In a standing mixer, combine butter, powder sugar, egg and vanilla and mix on medium speed until combined and fluffy
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and cream of tarter.
- Gradually add in the flour to the wet mixture and mix on low speed until combined
- Using a small ice cream scoop, scoop some dough into your hands and round the ball
- repeat step
- Place dough balls onto the cookie sheet to look like the body of the snowman
- Repeat steps
- Bake in the oven for 7-9 minutes or until slightly golden brown
- Once baked, place a white chocolate wafer into both circles and slightly push them in
- Let sit to cool completely, about an hour
- Using the black icing, pipe 3 dots on the bottom chocolate wafer for the buttons on the snowman
- Pipe two dots for eyes on the top chocolate wafer
- On the same chocolate wafer, pipe dots for the smile
- Using the orange icing pipe the triangle for the nose
- Let dry for 10 minutes before enjoying!
