Rosé Sorbet Three Ways:
Oh my goodness, it is getting HOT in Oregon. And without an AC unit in sight in our house, the little one and I escaped to Whole Foods Market 365 in Lake Oswego to do some shopping, munch on macarons, and enjoy a cup of tea in the cold air!
While it is a bit of a drive to our local Whole Foods Market 365, it is well worth it. Now that I am feeding my little guy homemade baby foods, I am making sure I am giving him fresh, quality ingredients I feel good about. And the standards they have in place are unlike any other market or store I have been to. Whole Foods Market 365 does not allow any artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, sweeteners, or hydrogenated fats in any of the items they carry. This doesn’t just include food, but every product they have for your home and body. Not only are their foods held to high standards, but they are wholesome, fresh, and great tasting!
I was prepared for a large haul of goodness with this shopping trip. I was having my family over for dinner that night, and a few of the ladies over later in the week, so of course I wanted to pick up the necessities, but also some wine and a few other goodies. With the weather being in the 100s all week, I didn’t exactly feel up to drinking a glass of wine. But a homemade Rosé Sorbet? Ummm, yes!
Walking past the produce section, I couldn’t help but snag several ginormous peaches- the scent was filling the entire store. I also saw a sign I hadn’t seen before by the red cherries: you get a 10% discount on select items if you have an Amazon Prime membership! I couldn’t believe a deal like this was applying to so many items, even fresh produce- Just look for the yellow signs.
So with fruit, wine, and macarons in hand, we made our way to the check stand and braced ourselves for the heat on the other side of the doors. I wasn’t sure how well the sorbet would freeze, so I decided to make a trial batch of all three flavors for myself that night. 😉 Get the scrumptious, boozy recipes below!
Rosé Sorbet Three Ways:
The Recipe:
Peach Rosé Sorbet:
- 1 Cup Fresh Whole Foods Market 365 Peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 Cup Presto Sparkling Rosé Wine
- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- Juice from 1/2 Lime
Red Cherry Rosé Sorbet:
- 1 Cup Fresh Whole Foods Market 365 Red Cherries, pitted and halved
- 1 Cup Presto Sparkling Rosé Wine
- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- Juice from 1/2 Lime
Watermelon Rosé Sorbet:
- 1 Cup Fresh Whole Foods Market 365 Watermelon, cubed
- 1 Cup Presto Sparkling Rosé Wine
- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- Juice from 1/2 Lime
The Directions:
- In a blender or food processor, blend your fruit with 1/4 cup of wine until very smooth.
- Add the sugar and lime juice, then gradually pour in the rest of your wine.
- Blend until there are no chunks, and the mixture is light and frothy.
- Place your Rose Sorbet mixture into a tupperware container that has a lid, and place into a deep freezer for 8 hours, or in a regular freezer overnight.
- Every few hours, gently swish the containers so you get a softer, more “scoopable” consistency.
- Since the sorbet melts a bit quicker than a regular ice cream, I recommend scooping the sorbet and freezing the individual scoops for an hour or so if you are serving to guests.
