Valentine’s Day has always been one of my favorite holidays! From Valentine Grams at school, to full blown parties, and of course- waking up to find a stuffed animal and a small box of chocolates in the morning from my dad.
After devouring a piece or two, my mom would put my hair is sweetheart braids, put on my “pinkest” dress, and my brother’s and I would get a special strawberry steamer from the coffee shop on the way to school. Clutching our Hannah Montana and TMNT Valentine Grams, we eagerly burst through the doors for a day full of sweets and fun!
Now that I am grown and have a husband and little one of my own, we get to have romantic dinners, LARGE boxes of chocolate, and other Valentine’s Night “fun” ;).
But one thing will never change- and that is the tradition of Late Night Red Velvet Oreo Milkshakes! While I used to sip on one while reading Valentine Grams with my siblings, my husband and I now clink them while watching a movie after successfully getting the little one to bed.
Traditions may change, but they will always be there! I can’t wait for the little one to grow with his future siblings so I can send them off to school with chocolates and steamers, and watch them bond over red velvet Oreo milkshakes at night!
Learn how to make these addicting milkshakes below!
