Honey Cake Recipe
Honey cake is one of the most delicious desserts I have discovered in the Russian culture. It is a flaky dough layered between thick amounts of honeyed whipped cream. It is also extremely time consuming to make, but very worth the wait. After going through the long process a few times, I knew there had to be an easier way.
After many failed attempts at replicating it, I finally found one that is pretty darn close. And the best thing? There are only three ingredients! Most recipes I was looking at had ingredients I’ve never even seen before! While I usually love a recipe that is a challenge or that will take me a while to complete… I love to have a quick and easy one on hand. This will be a delicious and impressive dessert for any occasion. Look below to do it yourself!
Ingredients:
Honey Graham Crackers
Whipped cream
Warmed honey
Yes, that’s it!
-The first thing you will want to do is make your whipped cream. Once that is finished, layer a cake pan with graham crackers.
-Next, layer it with a generous amount of whipped cream. Drizzle a small amount of honey over the whipped cream. Repeat until you reach the top of the pan.
-The last layer of whipped cream should be generous. Create swirling patterns in it if you would like, this will make neat patterns when adding the cracker crumbs.
-Take the bits of graham crackers you didn’t use and crush very finely. Sprinkle over the top of the cake.
-Wrap the top of your cake in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least four hours.
–Note: It will taste MUCH better if you let it sit longer. I try to prepare this the day before I will be eating it.
Enjoy, and try not to eat the whole thing yourself!
