Motherhood is tough- from going through an enormous number of physical changes to dealing with a whole new perspective towards life and your day to day activities, there’s a lot that you need to handle. And what’s probably the toughest for new moms is accepting the reality that their bodies which undergo a major change.

Change Is The Only Constant
You may have experienced this one tons of times already- life changes, in ways you don’t expect,
but that’s the good thing too! It changes! So even if you’re not happy about how your body
currently looks, and even if you’re let down by how all those moms around you have that perfect
body even after having their baby, and you don’t, remember that you aren’t stuck like this
forever. Give yourself some time to recover, and soon itself, your body will adjust and you’ll feel
and look loads better.
Take It Slow
Whether you’re planning to join a fitness class or just start with a postnatal exercise routine,
remember to take it slow. You might be tempted to overwork yourself and get back in shape as
soon as you can, but that’s probably the worst thing you’d be doing to yourself. Relax, take it
easy, and best of all, team up with a fellow mom or a partner who’s on the same fitness goal as
you. Try to stay away from all media sources and people who pressurize you with the perfect
body image- especially if they demotivate you and make you feel bad about yourself.
Celebrate Your Power
The female body has an amazing duality- it is super strong, and yet, so soft at the same time.
You’re going to give birth, or probably have already given birth, and that’s a reason enough to
feel powerful and strong and proud about yourself. You’re also soft and malleable, which means
you will be able to get back to your active and energetic self once you recover. Don’t get yourself
into the cycle of self criticism, and instead, celebrate the power within you and have a positive
image about your body.
