DIY Homemade Hand Sanitizer Refill Recipe
Have you been to a store recently? It’s absolute madness with the COVID-19 panic! Toilet paper, soap, cleaning supplies, and hand sanitizer can’t be found anywhere, and online shops are gouging the prices. But thankfully, you can grab the ingredients to make your own DIY homemade hand sanitizer refills today- and you may even have all the ingredients at home already!
When you make your own DIY hand sanitizer, it is very important to use a rubbing alcohol that is 99% alcohol (or as high as you can find). To be effective, hand sanitizers must be at least 60% alcohol. When you dilute the rubbing alcohol with aloe vera, you cut the alcohol content by 33%. The recipe below creates a hand sanitizer that is approximately 65% alcohol- perfect for fighting of those coronavirus germs!
If you’re wanting to refill your “fun” Bath & Body Works sanitizers, feel free to add in your favorite essential oils, food coloring, and even glitter if you’d like! Just make sure not to add in liquid besides a few drops in order to keep the alcohol levels where they need to be.
