Somehow, Anastasia is one of the few princess movies I have never seen. So when I heard it was coming to the Keller Auditorium, I was super excited to finally see what the hype was about- and boy, was I blown away!
The show starts off picture perfect with Anastasia and her family living the life of their dreams inside their Russian palace. But when turmoile of the Soviet Union comes to light, we are transported to a poor, dangerous country and learn about the life of Anya- a woman trying to make it by in life after suffering a terrible accident resulting in amnesia, forgetting her entire life.
This is when Dmitry and Gleb make their appearance, convincing her to portray the long lost Russian princess in order to collect a large reward from the Princess Anastasia’s grandmother in Paris.
After lesson upon lesson, and transforming her into the lost princess, they all suddenly wonder if she is pretending after all.
Anastasia will take you on a journey of heartbreak, love, plenty of laughs, and give you a beautiful lullaby that will play in your head for hours after you leave.

Anastasia Synopsis:
Inspired by the beloved films, the romantic and adventure-filled new musical Anastasia is on a journey across America at last!
This dazzling show transports us from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past.
Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing conman and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love, and family.
ANASTASIA began performances on Broadway in March 2017 at the Broadhurst Theatre with critics exclaiming “Ahrens and Flaherty have chosen the right moments to musicalize, and their score here sounds complete and full — one of the season’s strongest! (NBC)” and “Smartly adapted by Terrence McNally, Anastasia is a sweeping adventure, romance and historical epic whose fine craftsmanship will satisfy musical-theater fans (Time Out)”.
The show played to sold out audiences on Broadway for more than three years before expanding it’s global “Fanastasia” community with productions on tour across North America and in Japan, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands.
